Also living with the family was his brother, Thomas, 21, and his wife, Ethel, 22, and their children, Irene, five, and Virgil, one year three months old. Robert, his brother, Thomas, and his sister-in-law, Ethel, could read and write. Allie could not. Both Robert and Thomas were unsure of their birthplace as the census reports "United States" as birthplace for both brothers and their parents. Allie, Clara and Ernest were born in Arkansas as were Allie's parents. Ethel, Irene and Virgil were also born in Arkansas as were Ethel's parents. Robert worked as a general farmer and his brother Thomas was a laborer on a general farm. The farm was enumerated on schedule 68.
