Josiah Ivans, a 21 year old farmer born in Kentucky, was living with his wife, Jane, 22 and born in Missouri, and Margaret Ivans, 15, also born in Kentucky in Washington Township, Taney County, Missouri. He was a farmer and owned $99 in personal property. The box "Married within the Year" is not checked.
"Evans, Jane (fieldstone, 'called Black Granny,' may have been Indian but all census records listed her as white; nee CONNER; had one dau Effie J. McNeelis before she md Josiah Evans; Effie md Levi Eldredge & both buried in Evans Cem.)"
Additionally, the Declaration of Widow's Pension states that he died 19 April 1894.

"Evans, Josiah Co C 8 Mo Cav n.o.d. (h/o Jane CONNER: 1850 Taney Co, Mo census lists James, age 21, born Ky and wife Jane age 22, born Mo; On 4 Aug 1862 Josiah Evans, age 23, enlisted in the Union Army at Springfield Mo. According to a story in the family, he was injured when his horse jumped a ditch & he was discharged at Lake Springs, Dent, Mo 4 Aug 1863. Josiah Sr. and Jane are listed on 1880 Mad Co, Ark Boston census #294 with all ch b Mo except youngest Rebecca b Tx. He died after 1882 and before the 1900 census."
