He owned his home and had $1500 in real property. He was 20 when he married Lena. She was 18. Bertha and Edna had attended school in the last year. E. E., Lena and Bertha could read and write and speak English. They were all born in North Carolina as were the entire family's parents.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro with Dr. Bobby Blanton officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
A native of Randolph County, he was a member of Balfour Baptist Church, retired from Food Line [sc] grocery stores and Hodgin Florist.
Surviving are his wife, Edna Brown Hodgin of 1987 US Hwy 64 East, Asheboro; son, Bob G. Hodgin of Greensboro; daughter, Sarah H. McCoy of Asheboro; brothers, James Hodgin, Dwaine Hodgin, both of Asheboro, Waldo Hodgin of Creensboro [sc]; grandsons, Casey Shane McCoy of Asheboro, Zachary Thomas Hodgin of Greensboro.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 tonight.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Danny Hosler officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Jasper Maurice Hodgin, a member of Oakwood Park Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Hodgin's Florist.
Surviving are son, Bob G. Hodgin of Banner Elk; daughter, Sarah H. McCoy of Asheboro; sisters, Bertha Brown, Ruth Ingold, Gladys Herlocker, all of Asheboro, Violet Cox of Sophia; brothers, Luther Brown, David Brown, Colon Brown, all of Sophia; two grandsons; one great-grandson.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to Oakwood Park Baptist Church, 194 Cresent Drive, Asheboro, N.C. 27203.
