She was known to be 'quite a character'. Once she was sitting on her porch with her feet stuck up. She had big toes, and a passerby commented, she chased him along the road with a broom. Later married Buck Henly who thought he could marry a rich young widow, and put the boys to work. The boys got there guns and moved to Charlie Bull's barn in Colfax. Charlotte Parrish Rayle Henley, a house worker, died 8 Dec 1923 in Deep River, Guilford County, North Carolina of Pneumonia. Her residence at time of death was Kernersville, Forsyth County, North Carolina. She was born 28 Dec 1850 in Johnson County, Tennessee and was the widow of W. M. Henley. Her parents were J. H. Parrish and Grizey Ann Franklin, both born in Johnson County, Tennessee. She was buried in Friendship Cemetery, Friendship, Guilford County, North Carolina by Linville and Linville of Kernersville.
The death certificate states she was 72 years 0 months and 10 days old. Based on this, her birth date would have been 28 Nov 1853.

Mrs. Charlotte Henley, aged 71, was buried Monday afternoon at Friendship Methodist church, Rev. Mr. Williams conducting the services. Interment was made in the church Cemetery.
Mrs. Henley, who died Saturday at her home near Oak Ridge, had been for many years a consecrated member of the church. She was married in 1870 to Robert Rayle, who died in 1888. To that union eleven children were born, of whom six are living, Mrs. J. J. Newman, Mrs W. Crutchfield, J. V., A. L., Charlie and Harper Rayle, all of Guilford county. Later she was married to William Henley, and to this union thre [sic] children were born, Mrs. Fred Gray, of Thomasville; Mrs. George Pegram and Grover Henley, the two latter of Guilford county. She also leaves 69 grand-children and six great grandchildren.
She was a woman of fine traits of character.

[Assuming the survivors opted to leave the months and days off her tombstone and round to the year, a calculation of the date would lead to a birth between 12 Dec 1852 to 11 Dec 1853. Her death certificate says her birth date was 28 Dec 1850 but it also states she lived 72 years, 0 months and 10 days which would calculate her birth date to be 28 Nov 1853. Her obituary says she was 71. The dates all conflict.
Additionally, her death date is incorrect. Both her obituary and her death certificate state her death to have occurred on Saturday, 8 Dec 1923.]
