James M., a 58 year old farmer (b. Mar 1842), and his wife, Luzina, 49, (b. Feb 1851) were living in Randleman, Randolph County, North Carolina and owned a farm free and clear. They had been married 31 years and had three of their five children still living (Lucinda J. and Corra L. had died in 1884 within five days of each other). Everyone in the family was born in North Carolina as were their parents. Both James M. and Luzina could read and write.
Caroline Brown was born Feb 6, 1851 in Randolph County, North Carolina to William Brown and Lousinda J. Fentress both born in Randolph County. She died 9 Nov 1926 in Randleman, Randolph County, North Carolina aged 75 years, 9 months, 3 days of heart dropsy. She was burried 11 Nov 1926 at St. Paul's Church Cemetery in Randleman. The Informant was her son, M. E. Brown.
