W. G. Brown, 62, foreman of labor at the national military park, Guilford Battleground, a position which he had occupied 11 years, died shortly after 11 o'clock Saturday morning at his home there. Death was ascribed to heart trouble. He had been in ill healt two years.
Funeral service was conducted at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at St. Paul's Methodist church, Randleman, of which Mr. Brown was a member. Rev. J. C. Groce, pastor of St. Paul's, and Rev. W. A. Way, pastor of Pilgrim Holiness church, Edgeville, officiated. Interment was in the cemetery at St. Paul's church. The funeral party will leave the Brown home at 1:45 o'clock.
Mr. Brown leaves his wife and two sons, Walter H. and William J. Brown of Guilford Battleground, and a brother, Madison Brown, of Randolph county.
Commissioner Mendenhall has appointed David T. Joyner acting foreman of labor in charge of the grounds at Guilford Battleground.
