John Stafford
General Notes: Notes: of Scales, Knt. of Amblecote and Bramshall, Stafford. Sir John Stafford, son of William Stafford, of Bromshull, county Stafford, and a descendant of Hervey Bagot and Milicent Stafford; which Sir John married Margaret, youngest daughter of Ralph Stafford, 1st Earl of Stafford, and left issue, Sir Humphrey, his heir, a distinguished soldier in the martial reign of King Edward III, and one of the retinue of the Black Prince, who married the dau. and heir of John Grenvil; and Ralph, who married Maud, daughter and co-heir of Sir John Hastang, and was ancestor of the Staffords of Grafton, county Worcester, and of the Staffords of Blatherwycke, county Northampton.
