Born: 1247 Marriage: Philip III the Bold of France on 28 May 1262 Died: 1271, Cosenza, Calabria at age 24 Cause of her death was falling from her horse. General Notes: She accompanied her husband on the Eighth Crusade against Tunis, but died after falling from her horse on the way home, in Cosenza, Calabria, still pregnant with her fifth child. She was buried in Saint Denis Basilica. Her tomb, like many others, was desecrated during the French Revolution in 1793. Isabelle married Philip III the Bold of France, son of Louis IX of France Capet and Marguerite of Provence Berenger, on 28 May 1262. (Philip III the Bold of France was born on 3 Apr 1245 in Poissy, France and died on 5 Oct 1285 in Perpignan.)
