Wencelas was raised a Christian by his grandmother St. Ludmila, but his ambitious mother, Drahomíra (Dragomir), a pagan, had her murdered and acted as regent herself, until Wenceslas came of age in 924 or 925. __________________________________ Drahomira var formynderinne for sin sønn Boleslav I inntil 921, og ble "oppslukt av jorden" i 924. Ifølge "Stammtafeln zur Geschichte der europeischen Staaten" av A. Cohn kalles hun "von Stodor", regent til 928 og død etter 935.
Drahomira married Vratislav I of Bohemia, son of Borzivoj I of Bohemia and Ludmila the Holy of Mielnick. (Vratislav I of Bohemia died on 13 Feb 921.) The cause of her death was killed in battle.
