Waldrade var Lothars konkubine fra før 855, muligens allerede i 851. Hun ble gift med Lothar i 862 og kronet til dronning, men ekteskapet ble ikke anerkjent av kirken. Hun ble skilt fra Lothar i 865 og ført til Italia. Waldrade ble ekskommunisert 02.02.866, ble absolvert 12.02.868 og ble til slutt nonne i klosteret Remieremont, hvor hun døde.
