I am searching for info about my grandfather's family. His name was John L. Parrish. His parents were John Henry Parrish and Grisey Ann Franklin. He was born July 19, 1865. His death certificate states he was born in Walker County, Ga. He was in Forsyth County, NC in the 1870 census. He and his father were both blacksmiths. I am excited to find a mailing list for Parrishs in Walker Co., Ga. Maybe John Henry had a father or brother living there.Thanks for any help. Corinne Murray, Greensboro, N. C.

2 Corinne J. Murray (Greensboro, North Carolina), interview by Autumn Brown, 19 Nov 2008; transcript;
Her grandfather was John L. Parrish. He apparently divorced his wife or left her after the birth of his second child. She said she went to Lawrenceville, VA and found his grave. One of his neighbors knew him as a child and gave her a picture of him. She has a copy of his death certificate. He committed suicide. She said she was told he went to the doctor that morning and came home and shot himself. He must have received bad news.
