There are four graves in the cemetery: James Martin Hamilton, John Lewis Washington Harris, Sirena Ward Hamilton Harris, and Lewis O. Harris (son of Desta Eldridge Harris and Tom Harris who died in infancy).

James Martin Hamilton, 88, Pettigrew, died December 17 in Huntsville Memorial Hospital. Born April 15, 1889, at Pettigrew, he was the son of Joe and Sirena Ward Hamilton and a retired farmer.
Survivors include four sons, Everett Hamilton and Harold Hamilton, Fort Worth, Texas, Ervin Hamilton of Ohio, and Elmer Hamilton, Dumas; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Chidister, Dumas, Mrs. Marvie Whiteley of Louisiana, and Mrs. Ruby Beaver (no address).
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, December 19, in the Pettigrew Community Building. Burial was in Muddy Gap Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hamilton Dies Tuesday

Mrs. Ruth Hamilton, 82, of Dumas, formerly of McGehee, died Tuesday afternoon at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, La. She was the widow of Martin J. Hamilton and was a member of the First Baptist Church of McGehee.
Survivors include four sons, Everett Hamilton and Harold Hamilton of Fort Worth, Tex., Irvin Hamilton of Quincy, Ohio and Elmer Hamilton of Dumas; three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Beavers of Haughton, La., Mrs. Marvie Whatley of Monroe and Mrs. Dorothy Chidester of Dumas, with whom she resided; a sister, Mrs. Red Walker of Umatilla, Oregon; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Service were at 3 p.m. Thursday October 16th at First Baptist Church in McGehee by Rev. Mason Craig and Rev. Charles Cuthbertson. Burial was in McGehee Cemetery by Dupwe's Dyer Funeral Home of McGehee.
