1 "Ephram Andrew Hamilton," (Tahlequah) The Tahlequah Daily Press, 23 July 1964; Funeral services for Ephram Andrew Hamilton, 83, were at 4 p.m. Saturday in Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Olen Rainwater and Rev. Max Squyres officiating.
Burial was in Manus Cemetery. Pallbearers were D. C. Stamper, James Stamper, Leonard Rainwater, Leroy Wright, Lewis Eastham and Leon Holden.
Born April 5, 1881 in Johnson County, Arkansas. Hamilton died Thursday at a local hospital after a short illness.
A retired farmer and stockman, Hamilton was a member of Caney Baptist Church and a former member of the 100F Lodge in Madison County, Ark. He was married to Addie Smith in 1908 in Pettigrew, Arkansas, and came to Cherokee County in 1910.
Survivors include his wife, Addie, of the home near Stillwell, two sons, Cecil of Tahlequah and Bill of Wagoner, five daughters, Mrs. D. C. Stamper and Mrs. Leon Holden, both of Tulsa, Mrs. Leonard Rainwater, Tahlequah, Mrs. Leroy Wright, Wichita, Kansas, and Mrs. Lewis Lastham, Dallas, Texas; a sister, Mrs. H. B. Kay, Elkin, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Taylor Hamilton, a 53 year old (Jan 1847) farmer, was living with his wife, Paralee, 47 (Jun 1853), and children, Walter, 21 (Aug 1878), Ephram, 19 (Apr 1881), Emma, 14 (Mar 1886), Louisia, 11 (Sep 1888), Preston, 9 (Aug 1890), Burt, 8 (Apr 1892), and Lizzie, 6 (May 1894), in Boston, Madison County, Arkansas. Taylor and Paralee had been married 28 years (abt. 1872.) Paralee had borne thirteen children, nine of which were alive at the time of the census. Taylor's parents were born in Georgia. Paralee's father was born in Arkansas and mother in Missouri. He owned the farm free of mortgage and the property was enumerated on schedule 89. Preston, Burt and Lizzie could not read and write yet.
