Thomas O. Black, 55, was living with his wife, Sarah, 38, and children Thomas, 16, Celia C, 13, John K., 11, James H., 8, ad George W., 5. He was a farmer and owned $1,300 in real estate. He was born in South Carolina, Sarah in Virginia, and the children in Kentucky. All of the children except George had attended school.
