10 (Newton) The Newton Record, 9 Aug 1917, p. 3;
Only a few hours after Comrade Gatewood passed away, my cherished friend and brother, Frank Wyatt joined the silent host "on the other side." Frank had been my true and fast friend from his boyhood until he reached the end of his sixty-third year. He died unexpectedly at Gum Springs, where he and his wife were sojourning for the benefit of his health. He was a good man, a good citizen and faithful in all the relations of life; which he had adorned with consistency, prudence and fidelity. These friends were all professing Christians and church members and lived and died with the assurance of a better life beyond."
I sincerely mourn their departure and their loss to home and country, which cannot be replaced, save by the reconciling presence of Him who said "blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." "They cease from their labors and their works do follow them."
